A quick-reference checklist to help you prepare a submission-ready manuscript.

Before you submit

This page summarizes what to prepare before submitting to GJBE. For full formatting and structure requirements, see the Author Guidelines.

  • Manuscript is within the word limit for its article type (research article, review, short communication, case study, or technical note).
  • Title page includes author names, affiliations, and corresponding author contact details.
  • Abstract is 150–250 words with 5–8 keywords.
  • References follow APA 7th edition style with DOIs where available.
  • Figures are at least 300 dpi; all figures and tables are cited in the text.
  • Ethics approval statement is included for research involving animals or human subjects.
  • Cover letter addresses significance, originality, and competing interests.
  • 3–5 suggested reviewers are listed with their affiliations.

Article types at a glance

Research Article

5,000–8,000 words. Original empirical or theoretical findings.

Review Article

8,000–10,000 words. By invitation or with prior editorial approval.

Short Communication

2,000–3,000 words. Brief but significant findings.

Case Study

4,000–6,000 words. Detailed documentation of a specific instance or application.

Technical Note

2,000–3,500 words. New methods, techniques, or instruments.
